Use these settings and step-by-step instructions to add a Lizard Hill mailbox to a computer, phone, or tablet.
Before you begin
You need your full email address, mailbox password, and the name of the Lizard Hill server hosting your account. Your welcome message identifies the assigned server. If you are unsure which server to use, please open a support ticket before changing your mail application.
name@example.com. Authentication is required for both incoming and outgoing mail.Recommended email settings
| Service | Server | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incoming IMAP, preferred | Your assigned server | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| Incoming POP3, optional | Your assigned server | 995 | SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing SMTP, preferred | Your assigned server | 587 | STARTTLS |
| Outgoing SMTP, alternative | Your assigned server | 465 | SSL/TLS |
Available server names are lhpvm01.lizardhill.com, lhpvm02.lizardhill.com, and lhpvm03.lizardhill.com. Use the specific server named in your welcome message.
IMAP is recommended because it keeps messages and folders synchronized between webmail, computers, phones, and tablets. POP3 primarily downloads messages to one device and may not synchronize folders.
Do not disable certificate validation. If your application reports a certificate-name error, confirm that you entered the assigned server name exactly.
